' Thev tracked upstream and pushed on across the big lakes, despite being impeded by ice right to the end of July. The route, so far, was the reverse of that already travelled bv the first white men, the Tyrrell brothers. W. Tyrrell had descended and mapped the Dubawnt River from northern Saskatchewan, to join the Thelon at the east end of Beverly Lake, from where thev continued downstream out to Hudson Bay.
